It’s another fest-upon-fest (x 4!) weekend: Saturday, Inbound BrewCo hosts the 6th Annual Nershfest, a celebration with local four acts including General B & The Wiz neatly interspersed with curated, streaming playlists accompanied by booths from other local entrepreneurial types (think mobile coffee and bike repair services). Then 4th in downtown MPLS hosts the equal parts pizza party and block party from Pizza Lucé, which has local starlets Polica, Dizzy Fae and Shredders heading the lineup of their nosh and groove fest (also note Surly’s Luce Lime Lager will be available, whoot summer!). Also this Saturday, Stillwater has their Square Lake Film & Music Festival, and all we can say about this one is we’d see Lady Midnight and Night Moves anywhere but the backdrop of the hobby farm (grassy knolls: check. Windmills: check.) and interludes of independent, animated film screenings (projected from a hay barn, yep) elevate this to a total summer steal. Sunday we’re off to Uptown for Athena Fest, a musical fundraiser for Planned Parenthood featuring local seven acts. Do the best (read: as much as) you can.
