As we’ve previously mentioned, we’re fascinated by the new show American Art: It’s Complicated at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. The exhibition, made up of 30 works from public and private collections, tackles topics of nationality, geography, and identity to try and present, as they say, a defined grouping of American art that’s Complicated. What went into that process? How did the results turn out? What more could go into a show about American art? Those questions and more will be bandied about at tonight’s exciting panel discussion with Seitu Jones, Kristin Makholm, Maria Cristina Tavera, and Dyani White Hawk Polk, the curators of the show. 6 PM.
