Head over to Lowertown after work for the kickoff of Music in Mears Park. The intimate St. Paul music series, which starts in on its 8th season, sets live music and great food from local vendors in the great outdoors of Mears’s urban oasis. (Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on in on of the many ample soft patches of grass along the running stream.) For this first installment, Black Blondie bring their soulful melodies on the park’s small stage, followed by pop-rockers Rogue Valley, and Fork in the Road, Chow Hounds, Black Dog provide the grub. And if you’re still in the mood to be out after the music wraps up, venture across the street to either Barrio, The Bulldog, and Bin Wine Bar. Music in Mears Park runs Thursdays through August. The event is free and open to the public; for more information and a full schedule of the season, visit MusicinMears.com.
