If you’re thinking about seeing the upcoming MN Opera production of Rigoletto, we’ve got some recommendations. First, of course, go see it. Verdi’s tale of revenge is one of the true classics, and the MN Opera will stage a grim re-imagining of the production. Next, grab those tickets quick or plan on rush tickets (a nice option) because many of the seats are already filled up. Last, get a wonderful backgrounder during Behind the Curtain on Wednesday, when UofM musicologist Peter Mercer-Taylor, and Resident Artists Andres Acosta and Lindsay Woodward (piano), perform and discuss pieces essential to the show and Verdi’s spot within the great musical canon. Wednesday, 7 PM. $15.Elles Stevens-Hutchinson
