Focusing on themes of gardening, feeding the hungry, and social justice, the final installment of the Lowertown Reading Jam Series entitled “Sowing the Seeds of Peace” takes place tonight at the Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar in St. Paul. Hosted and curated by Melvin Giles, the evening features readings and spoken word performances from a distinguished group of speakers, including broadcast journalist Andy Driscoll (KFAI Radio), writer and gender activist Nina Rasmussen, and humanitarian Mustafa Ahmedu Sundiata (NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center’s Community Food Shelf). Stop in and share your own viewpoints on social growth and public policy, or just have a coffee or drink and take in the discussions. For more information visit
