When you hear the words “death match,” you most likely immediately picture some kind of weaponry being used. But the people of The Nomad World Pub are much more peaceful, and would rather make people kill using their well-written and presented words. That’s right, the Literary Death Match returns to The Nomad, in celebration of Lara Avery’s release of Anything But Ordinary (get there early and get a free copy). Judged by author and previous LDM champ Peter Bognanni, writer/musician Dylan Hicks, and comedian Mary Mack, this literary fight to the death displays four competitors, who read for seven minutes or less from their written works. Contestants this year include story slammers, poets, and bloggers, making for a rather interesting assortment. Will the competition imitate real life (blogger beats all, obviously)? Head to The Nomad to find out. 7:35 p.m. $15. —AA
