Hüsker Dü were a big deal local band way back in the golden age of MPLS music, but we’re glad the proto-punk trio of Grant Hart, Bob Mould, and the wonderful Greg Norton are getting a resurgence of appreciation. The three played their own brand of music at a blistering tempo and volume, especially on their very fast and very short Land Speed Record record, an album at the center of the current exhibition of the same name by Chris Larson. Tonight at the Walker’s free Third Thursday, you can grab a copy of the album that contains a duplicate drum track that Yousif Del Valle recently performed at First Avenue’s 7th St Entry, and even see him deliver the complete drum track live. Right after that short-but-sweet display, Del Valle will play a set with his thrash metal band Hate Beast (who are awesome). And for you collectors there’s also a deluxe edition with photography and curator notes from the exhibition that’s signed and numbered by the artist. 6:30-9 PM.Keith Pearlstein
