Irregular Readings at the Triple Rock

Irregular-readings-x-for-america

This is not your average spoken word night. Formed by musicians and self-proclaimed rabble-rousers, Irregular Readings are just that—sporadic get-togethers of literary inclined folk. STNNNG singer and poet-on-the-side Chris Besinger and freelance writer pal/Moth regular Tigger Lunney gather up their favorite prose prone friends in a night that’s far from serene (“drinking and yelling encouraged”) at the Triple Rock, fittingly enough. This round welcomes Walt Whitman Award-winning poet Matt Rasmussen, comedian and poet Brian Beatty, Paper Darts editorial director Courtney Algeo, and short story writer John Jodzio alongside Tigger and Chris. Quite the roster for a Monday night. Bring your 4th of July hangover into sharp relief with some hair of the dog and words of the poets. 8 p.m. Free. –EK
