Editor’s Note: This event was over bright and early, but it sounded cool, so we wanted to include for all our early bird readers.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving and its sentiments of gratitude, this month’s Green Ideas and Ham forum focuses on environmental protection matters right in our backyard. The event includes representatives from Friends of the Mississippi River and the National Park Service speaking about local water quality and Mississippi River health.

This edition of Green Ideas and Ham, facilitated by Environment Minnesota, also includes conversation about the Gulf of Mexico dead zone, as well as our state’s connection to this major pollution problem. While you contemplate ways to address our environmental impact, enjoy a full gourmet breakfast with all the fixins. Plus, $5 of the ticket price benefit Environment Minnesota. 8 a.m. (doors at 7:30 a.m.) $15. —RO
