Perhaps you’ve had a chance to venture into a few of the department stores downtown so you know the holiday displays are up and Christmas music is taking over the speakers. If you’re ready to get started on your Christmas shopping but Black Friday is not your scene, consider the Green Gifts Fair as your one-stop-shop for the environmentally-conscious people on your list.

The 7th Annual Green Gifts Fair features more than 70 local eco-vendors selling green, recycled, fair-trade and organic gifts. In addition to an eco-fashion show and live music, there will be organic holiday cooking demos, local representatives from Do It Green! businesses and organizations, and Midtown Global Market food samples. Bring your own reusable shopping bags and cutlery to further reduce your waste at the fair and be sure to drop off your old holiday lights for recycling at the on-site station. Forget having a “Blue Christmas;” this season, we’re going green. Sa. 10 a.m. Free. —RO
