GenreBeast 6: Your Friends & Family, Sexcat

Whereas the conventional wisdom behind booking a show says to gather similar groups and performers together onto a coherent bill to appeal to a specific subset of an audience, the GenreBeast series in the warehouse space behind Nick & Eddie openly goes against the convention and assembles local music of a multitude of styles and sounds. Tonight, as the series winds down, head over to Loring Park to see sets from Moving Monuments (frenetic rock), Friends & Family (folk-pop), Pepper Patriot (vinyl and live accompaniment), and Sexcat (sexy electronic dance music).
