Fresh from a stop at Lincoln Hall in Chicago, the pop duo brings its dynamic set to the 7th Street Entry tonight. Homegrown in New Orleans, their hits are a bit all over the map—they stay within the pop range, but there they explore retro, dance, and even soul influences. All have tight hooks and bright sounds capitalized on by television shows and car commercials alike. From older, swingier hits “Carrying the Torch” and “When They Fight, They Fight” the band has grown a bit into their latest release, Heza, replacing in-your-face cheer with mellowed new-wave electro while hanging on to the pop ethos they’ve skillfully mastered.
Openers Brass Bed warm up the room with a less optimistic set of psychedelic pop songs. 7 p.m. $10. —EK
