Take note, this one’s a two part-er: Fulton’s Gran Fondo celebrates its five-year mark with more beer options, more ride options, and more festivities! Saturday’s 100-mile bike ride winds south past Chaska to Belle Plains and back, dropping bicyclists back off at the production facility for a six-show, eight-hour block party. The less committed can participate in the Medio Fondo, a 45-50-mile track, and the rest of us can just show up to party (addendum—kids: yes; dogs: no). Expect all the Twincy block party must-haves: food trucks, cash only beer stands, and a local line-up of music including Dwynell Roland and The Bad Man. Gran Fondo, Saturday: ride starts at 9 a.m., block party runs 1-9 p.m. $60 for the gran fundo, free to party.
But first, we feast! Pick up your race packet on Friday and stay for a plateful of pulled pork, roasted veg and polenta, courtesy of Tangletown Gardens and the cheffery of Fulton Kitchen’s Scott Pampuch. Attendees also get a sneak sip of Fulton’s summer Citrus wheat ale, the Cosmic Stallion. The event features music from Andy Cook. Please note: all events are at Fulton’s production facility, not the brewery (you’d still have fun there, but with less feasting). Pre-Feast Friday, 4-8 PM. $20 advance/$25 at the door. —Isabelle Wattenberg
