Hard Looks do indeed serve up some hard looks—we wouldn’t mess with the punks—but they make far from stand-offish music. The band’s new album One Step, released on Friday at the best punk venue in MPLS + STPL, Moon Palace Books, features garage-pop sounds and catchy hooks for any fans of fun lo-fi sounds you’d likely hear on Radio K. (We’re included in that group, we’ve had “Pistol Shot” on repeat in the office all week.) Added bonus: The similarly cool, similarly super fun Fiji-13 and Black Widows also play the show. Friday, January 24th, 9 PM. $5. —Taylor Carik
