Just because we’ve barely left Monday behind, doesn’t mean we can’t get full-on weekend edgy. Forget settling into your weekly routine, head to Kitty Cat for a buzzed up night. What is a Tuesday night, after all, without some minimalist pop soul electro music from Dust Buns? They’re moody and fantastic and will make you feel equally moody and fantastic in a haze of echoing piano chords and faint, high pitched singing. It’s the sort of music Bjork listens to, which should indicate the level of experimentalness we’re talking. Oaks, meanwhile, sticks closer to a Santigold meets Courtney Love sound—defiant but not so dark you can’t just dance it off. Making excellent use of a drum machine, the band has only two members—Erica on guitar and vocals and Jim on bass—but they deliver hard. Still need more? The Miami Dolphins and Les Ourses are happy to oblige. 9 p.m. Free. —LB
