We’ll admit: this continuation of winter into March has us longing for summer and the associated activities, including visiting the drive-in movie theater. We’re nostalgic for the walk (outdoors!) to the concession stand, the double feature with two movies that usually have nothing to do with each other, the craning of the neck to find a good spot to see out of the car windows . . . Unfortunately, we only get to experience the drive-in magic during the summer months so in the meantime, we’re keeping the summer dream alive by attending Grumpy’s Drinky Drive-In.

Every Monday, enjoy half-priced Minnesota beer and wine during the feature films. This week’s films are all about anime: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke are on the docket. The Drinky Drive-In films screen outdoors on the patio in the summer and are moved indoors when it’s too cold for even the hardiest Minnesotan to sit outside. You may not be able to drive your car inside the bar, but it sure beats ending up too far away from the outdoor screen. 9 p.m. Free. —RO
