Some exciting new art happening tonight at Public Functionary, as is usually the case with the gallery. Composer, installation artist, and percussionist Davy Sumner will be showing two very and very different pieces. First, the outdoor installation Circadas create sound in response to ambient light conditions. Then inside the gallery, attendees will get to see the audio-visual piece Electroacousic Drawing, a “16-foot drawing and noise piece will be simultaneously produced by a process combining markers, motors, centripetal force, electronics, and amplification”. Very cool stuff. 7 & 8 PM. Free. —Tracy Oxford
