Dark Dark Dark CD Release

darkdarkdark

Although we here at Secrets enjoy musical experimentation (electro country soul, anyone?) as much as the next indie rocker, sometimes we just need a good dose of tight and effortlessly good music. Thankfully, we have Dark Dark Dark, a band hailing from our own backyard, to brighten up even the most obscure music scene.

The Minneapolis quintet celebrates the release of its new album Who Needs Who with a performance at The Cedar Cultural Center. Dark Dark Dark’s third full-length release features up-tempo piano, occasional horn accompaniment, and Nona Marie Invie’s heady vocals in a combination so smooth, you can practically drink it. Guests include harmonizing folk band Mountain Man and multi-talented musician Emily Wells. Due to popular demand, there are two nights for the release party (Wednesday and Friday) so make sure to secure your tickets soon! W 7:30 p.m., F 8 p.m. $13. —RO
