The deck is stacked tonight for Acadia (NO CRAP ON TAP) Cafe’s three-hour lineup of local and visiting acts. We know they’re trying to placate us while we suffer an agonizing wait for the new Broken Bicycles album, and we’re okay with it. Broken Bicycles formed from a musical love story, a cute meet at a music store that brought ukulele-loving boy (Thomas Maddux) and magical-voiced girl (Turkeye Laffity) together. Her sleepy, ethereal vocals proved a perfect match for his peppy ukelele. And then there were three. The band’s first full-length album, Minneapolis is an indie-pop daydream, judging from the first five singles available for a listen now. We recommend “Dreaming Valentine,” for a melodic introduction.
The only decision you have to make is, CD or limited edition vinyl? We know you’ve already made up your mind about tonight. And we haven’t even mentioned acoustic acts Matt Moberg, Zach DuBois, and Sarah Morris. 9 p.m. Free. –LB
