Our expectations for Tanya Barfield’s new play Bright Half Life at Pillsbury House are pretty high, thanks to hard-working director Ellen Fenster and stars Sarah Agnew and Jasmine Hughes. The two talented actresses play a couple that goes (and grows and crashes) through the many phases of a serious (and funny) same-sex interracial relationship, a wonderfully progressive story that’s still going to be enjoyable for our many contemporary theater fans. Saturday premiere, $25. —Mike Huntington
