Saturday’s performance from Bebel Gilberto goes on to the long list of reasons we’re so very lucky to have the Dakota Jazz Club. Bebel, the daughter of legendary Brazilian music icons João Gilberto and Miúcha, has successfully cultivated her own brand of chillax, sultry, electronic-influenced samba and bossa nova music since her absolutely fantastic debut Tanto Tempo. Her new album, Tudo, moves into more warm and playful Brazilian rhythms, but still contains Gilberto’s relaxed arrangements and breathy vocal delivery. It’s going to be an amazing treat to see her transform the Dakota into a Brazilian jazz club. And even cooler, DJ Brian Engel from Hipshaker! and Worldwide Discotheque spins vinyl between and Gilberto’s sets. (After the show there’s no cover!) Saturday, 7 PM, 9:30 PM. $60, $40.—Marcelo Altomonteyo
