Despite the cognitive dissonance that may arise from recognizing the two day imbibe-and-jive fest is raising funds for a cathedral—or the cognitive dissonance of seeing it here as a rec since it’s the least secret block party or fest all year—the Basilica Block Party, now in its 23rd year, offers one of the best lineups (and views, for that matter) any local music festival. Jason Isbell, somewhat of an annual visitor, headlines Friday, while wry alt-rockers Cake take Saturday’s top slot for their first MPLS + STPL show in six years. The full lineup is twenty acts-strong, including The Revolution(!) and even Third Eye Blind(?). Make sure to take a turn to the all-local lineup at the STrib Stage: this year features Reina del Cid and Lady Lark. Friday & Saturday June 6-7, 5:10-10:30 PM. $75-$400. —Isabelle Wattenberg
