Cinema and Civics combines those two great loves of summer, live music and free classic movies, and tonight’s pairing at Stevens Square Park will prove to be especially entertaining. First up is Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, sparky musicians who frequently appear on lists of favorite local bands. Then stick around after the music for Back to the Future, the contemporary classic that you already know by heart, but would love to see again on a big screen while laying on a blanket in a park. There will also be free cupcakes and Ken Stroble from the Stevens Square Community Organization’s Block Patrol will talk about the upcoming “Block Patrol Month” plans for August. The music starts at 8 p.m. Stevens Square Park is located at 1801 Stevens Ave. S. in Minneapolis; the event is free. For more information, visit Cinemaandcivics.org.
