Yes! It’s back! One of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals” in the world takes over local cinemas (and a hotel bar and cabaret and Uptown VFW) with their can’t-miss line-up of films about music, plus parties and meet-ups. Where to even start? It’s tough to single out any one of the films, but we’re hoping to hit up, at a minimum, Industrial Accident: The Story Of Wax Trax! Records, the story behind the independent record store and label, Mr. SOUL!, about SOUL!, America’s first “black Tonight Show”, Descent into the Maelstrom, the true story of Radio Birdman, and of course the Midwest Premiere of Teddy Pendergrass: If You Don’t Know Me. Oh and The Godfathers of Hardcore. And the Saturday morning filmmakers panel. And the Minnesota premiere of Lords of Chaos, the story of insane black metal band Mayhem by Jonas Åkerlund, famed director of music videos by U2, Beyonce, Metallica, Lady Gaga, and more. That’s just a fraction of the super cool selections that kick off on Wednesday and run through Sunday. Grab tickets now, many of these screenings rightfully fill up. Wednesday, November 14th-Sunday, November 18th. $12 advance, $14 door. —Taylor Carik
