(Behind the) Bohemian Scenes
Bust out the broom skirts, pile on the bracelets and head over to downtown's Four Seasons Dance Studio for a Tempo-ed affair of boho chic proportions. Tonight's “(Behind the) Bohemian Scenes” hosts a salon-inspired meet 'n' greet mixer with the stars of the Minnesota Opera's La bohème including lead, James Valenti – fresh off the stages of the Paris Opera! Nosh on tasty hor d'oeuvres, compliments of Joe's Garage, sip some refreshments and enjoy gypsy-fueled jazz by local collective, Parisota Hot Club. Plus, stunning visual art by locals Jamie Dean, Bethany Heemeyer and Ryan Nygard; beautiful 19th century-inspired designs by fashion designer Samantha Rei of Blasphemina's Closet; and unique Neo-Victorian jewelry by Bionic Unicorn's Kristin Berwald. And, if you're feeling especially photogenic, grab a good looking pal for décor and take part in Konstantin Berkovski's old-time portrait sittings. Period-inspired, bohemian styles are encouraged! “(Behind the) Bohemian Scenes” starts at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 for Tempo members, $10 for non-Tempo members.
