Zenon Dance Company 27th Fall Season
Next Occurrence:
Friday, Nov. 20 at 8:00 PM
The Ritz Theater hosts two weekends of performances from innovative and provocative local dance troupe, Zenon Dance Company, kicking off their 27th Fall Season. The production features stunning dance choreography and three world premieres including a darkly modern, evocative piece from New York choreographer Syndey Skybetter entitled “The Laws of Falling Bodies” with music by Jonny Greenwood; a jazz piece by Judith James Ries, “Here, now that you are gone...” with music by Charlie Byrd, Toots Thielemans and Stéphane Grappelli; and an evanescent modern solo by Emilie Plauché Flink, co-founder and co-artistic director of Black Label Movement. The program also includes "Not From Texas" from Megan McClellan and Brian Sostek and Andrea Miller's Booba (Doll). Reviewed as “immensely versatile but inherently comic,” the performance is a sure to be a beautiful and entertaining display of human agility and modern dance. This event starts at 8 p.m. and runs through Sunday, November 29th. Tickets are $28, $15 student rush, $26 seniors, and pay-as-able on November 22nd. Free street parking is available around the Ritz Theater. For tickets and more information visit www.ritztheaterfoundation.org. -Juleana Enright
