Crypticon 2009
If you're an avid Secrets reader, you've probably already gleaned the fact that we're pretty nerdy. Whether it be Sci-fi, fantasy, and yes, even horror, we're just a little bit obsessed. Enter Crypticon Horror Convention. Taking the sheer over-the-top ridiculousness of a Science Fiction con and pairing it with the campy, creepy theme of all things horror related, we can't help but chomp at the bit to check it out. Our disturbed side is weirdly zeroed in on meeting at least one of the two "Jasons" that will be in attendance. Yes, folks, two of the actors that played Jason in the Friday the 13th movies will be special guests at this convention along with a bevy of other notables such as the guy who played Michael Meyers in Halloween, one of the guys from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, the guy who played "Winston" in Ghostbusters, and the chick who played the Mom from Amityville Horror (also known as "Margot Kidder") and so many, many more. Also involved are numerous panel discussions, memorabilia vendors, movie screenings, a costume contest, a "heavy metal massacre concert" and of course, wild all-night room parties where we're assuming lots of brains will be consumed, among other things (body parts).
