More Happenings: Weekend of Sept 16-18th



Hijinx: All weekend, it’s Oktoberfest in Rice Park in St. Peazy!! We’re unreasonably excited for Maya’s fourth anniversary with their 2-4-1s, $1 beers, and more. It’s still Pizza Week, get in on the various pizza fun happening at a bunch of different pizza locations. There’s a huge social mixer at Gamut gallery with a short film premiere of Backyard, bands, visual art, custom clothing, and host (gotta have one) Claire Weatherly. Explore an oddity from the Christian Manson (home of the Henn Hist Museum) with Miss Teria’s Night of the Unknown.

Arts: It’s the NEMAA Fall Fine Arts show at Solar Arts by Chowgirls above Indeed Brewing. It’s a night of poetry and prose at the A-Mill artists lofts.

Music: The Skatalites team up with the Prizefighters for a skanking good time at the Cedar Cultural Center; the after-party happens across the street at the Nomad. The combo of Highgraves, Comets Ov Cupid, and Wolf Council at the Seward Eagles Club will be so heavy that your bowels will empty. We say Rarasit, but the regular night of house music at the Kitty Cat Klub is really called RARE PARASITE.

Arts: It’s the LoLa Art Crawl through the homes and galleries of Longfellow MPLS artists, plus after party in downtown Longfellow. Franconia Sculpture Park celebrates 20 years with tons of fun, including live music, art making, theater performances, and much more! Fox Tax hosts an opening reception for the new show by Neal Perbix. Royal Krew Co and FAB: Fashion & Business hosts the fash bash Reali Runway at The Exchange.

Outdoors: Need to get outside one last time? Remember it’s the kid-friendly Prairie Burn Music Festival at Camp St. Croix.

Bikes: It’s the return of the Konawerks Bike Show at Grumpy’s, lots of great motorcycles, bands, a butt dart game, and more.

Music: Don’t forget that Festival Palomino was moved closer to home at Historic Hall’s Island! Hear the music of the Final Fantasy series performed live at Amsterdam in St. Easy. 90s rock icons Belly play the First Ave Mainroom. It’s week two of the Sex Rays residency at Grumpy’s Downtown with Liquor Beats Winter and the outrageous and semi-shirtless Whiskey Rock ‘n’ Roll Club MPLS. There’s sets by the awesome Pytch crew and Tolliver at the Nomad forReception.
