On Our Radar: Keep All of Your Fingers Attached At
Out of all the correspondence we get, people asking for more lead time on cool events is our readers’ biggest request. (A diagram of which of the three recycling containers at coffee shops to use is next.) So with that in mind, here’s a quick look at some stuff that’s currently on our radar for this weekend:
It’s the first gigantic and patriotic Dillinger Four D4th of July party at the Triple Rock, a bucket-list event for anyone living in Twincy who loves loud live music. Big electro-soul show at Amsterdam with Su Na releasing his new EP with special guests Dizzy Fae and Psymun. Fire Drill fills up Fresh Oysters Performance Research with new dance. The dance-y indie pop folks in Good Night Gold Dust play a show at the 331 Club with Oh My Love and Garrison Grouse. All the music scenesters will be at the 7th Street Entry for the split vinyl release from Fort Wilson Riot and Pornonono, special openers Holidae and just added Aaron Rice make it a pretty awesome lineup, while the wacky heavy glam-rockers FLIPP make their return to the Twincy music scene in the Mainroom.
There’s still some tickets left to DJ Jake Rudh & Transmission’s tribute to Prince in the First Avenue Mainroom, get them quick. Whoa! Dosh is taking the small stage at The Viking Bar! People have lots of good things to say about the funny new show, Le Switch, about the pressure of getting married, at The Jungle Theater.
Monday, Happy 4th!
It’s the annual can’t-miss Diamond Dog Eating Contest at The Depot.
